·       Please practice counting orally with your child to 50.

·       We will making gingerbread houses with our buddies in early December. To help us cut our costs, we are asking parents to send in some Halloween candies such as smarties, Swedish berries, jujubes, jelly beans, nerds, mints or any candies you think that might work. Weekly Reminders for May25th-27th

·       Our Father’s Day event will be on Thursday, June 16^th at 1:45-2:50.  If you are unable to attend, a grandfather, uncle or family friend may attend in your place. Please RSVP in the planner.

·       Due to an overwhelming response for our Science World Fieldtrip, we will welcome all parents who wish to come on this trip. However, every parent will be required to pay the entrance fee. Volunteer hours will be given. All parents are welcome to ride on the bus with us. Please let me know if you are coming.

Weekly Reminders for February 15-19th

·       As we are in the season of Lent, we have been asking the students to do “good deeds” both at home and at school. If you notice that your child has done a good deed, please write it down on a piece of paper and place it in the front of the planner with your child’s name on it. We will add these to our Lenten jar at school.

·       Just a reminder that participating in Raz-Kids is part of the Kindergarten program. It has come to my attention that over half of the class has not been participating in the program on a consistent basis (3 times a week). This program is designed to help your child to develop good reading skills and prepare them for the transition into Grade One. Please begin this program right away if you haven’t done so already. Thanks.

Reminders for January 11-15th

·       We will begin learning the pre-primer Dolch sight words, which are words that need to be memorized and for the most part can’t be sound out. It is important to practice these words as they appear in the sound book, because these words are important for reading.

·       Please practice the sound book on a regular basis.  At this point, your child should be able to identify and sound out the letters A-K.

·       Please send another colouring book with your child’s name so they can keep it in their cubby.

·       On Friday, I videoed the kids dancing to a song. They were amazing!!! If you want me to send you the clip you can write your cell number for me and I can message it to you.
